REVIEWS:

nice old building but its in middle of city. so its too much traffic you need to take care if you want to take some good photos. it was hard to take timelapse here for me because there is road work going on in front of it. other that its really nice architecture with good history.
It is old historical buildind of a beautiful structure. The interior of the building is more exquisite. Modern scyscrapers on the George street hinder the view of this masterpiece building. A must visit place in the city.

A nice Town Hall building which is essentially the centre of the Sydney CBD. However it is lacking for real atmosphere both around it & inside and more should be done to make it open to the public and tourists.

The Town Hall has been undergoing renovation for close to 4 years now, they started in 2013 and just finished in 2017 ? I've always been impressed with the systematic and strategic placing of Sydney's most historic buildings. The Town Hall is sitting right at the heart of Sydney downtown, next to the QVB and right above its own Town Hall train station. A little known fact, this building was the reason the Sydney Opera House were built in the first place. During the growing period of theatrical productions in Aussieland, the venues in this building were too tiny to accommodate for the growing audience. So they built a dedicated building, and the Sydney Opera house was born.

One of the best features of the most beautiful city on the planet is the Victorian Architecture. Inside and out Town Hall has been an Icon for locals and tourist for over 200 years as it's literally central to everything in the CBD. p.s. Avoid driving, public transport is amazing in Sydney.

The Town Hall was built in the 1880s – on the site of the former Old Sydney Burial Ground. The cemetery was Sydney's first permanent cemetery and it is estimated that at least 2000 burials were made in the Old Sydney Burial Ground between 1782 and 1820.The Town Hall was built from local Sydney sandstone in the grand Victorian Second Empire style, inspired by the French Second Empire Hotel de Ville in Paris. The Town Hall has been described as having "lavishly ornamented composition with focal tower and fanciful roofs".The building consists of the original Town Hall, mayoral suites and town clerk's offices. These were designed by J. H. Wilson in 1866, having won a civic competition to design a town hall for the rapidly-growing city. Construction of his initial designs were completed under the architectural direction of Albert Bond in 1869.Wilson also designed the interior of the original Town Hall meeting room. The clock tower was completed in 1873 to the design of E. and T. Bradbridge and whose clock was installed in 1884. The Centennial Hall and associated offices and entrances were designed by Thomas H. Sapsford in 1883,but after his death were completed by architects David McBeath, John Hennessy and George McRae in 1889.

Been here a couple times for concerts and shows and recently been here for my friends wedding. Absolutely stunning location for weddings so for all of your engaged people out there yes you can have a wedding at the Sydney town hall. Here's a pic of the food served that day.

Stunning sandstone architecture in the heart of the city.It looks quite small from the front but it is quite a long building.Note that sometimes functions are held inside here at night, so you can’t get in.Worth popping inside to check out the beautiful interior architecture. The area around the town hall isn’t that attractive at the moment due to light rail construction however

Went there to see the Body World Vital exhibition. A quiet and historical place. The exhibition is very educative even to the adults. But...a little bit creepy when you see the skeleton and muscle...you can hire a electronic guide for $5 extra to listen to more explanation of the items.

So beautiful. It changes its lighting but i dont know why. Its just so beautiful. There are also performers in there everyday. You may watch them and give some dollars or may buy their cd's. They are all talented. So good that i experience its beauty in times that i am here in Sydney. 😍
